Learning the proper dental care (the parents as well!)
Time for the first dental visit

We have to protect not only the permanent teeth, but also the deciduous teeth against caries! Many parents are not aware of the fact that our first molar erupts at the age of 6 which isn’t preceded by exfoliation of deciduous teeth. We can prevent the development of caries with the help of prophylactic treatments already at this age! The abnormal position of teeth should be treated on time as well! |

Familiarization with the dentist It’s possibly more important challenge to dissolve the fears of a child or the prevention of it. For this reason, it’s recommended to take the child as early to the dentist when there is no need to do any kind of treatment yet. The goal is to make dental visits natural for the child. Treatment of a child needs a lot of patience and experience. We have to achieve that they shouldn’t have any negative experience. We have to approach their soul for this achievement. |
Learning the proper dental care (the parents as well!)
As the child isn’t able to clean the teeth efficiently due to his age, it’s the duty of the parents to do it instead of him/her. We have to develop those oral hygienic habits already in the childhood which will stay characteristic for the whole life. To acquire and learn the proper dental care, it’s advisable to take our child to the dentist around the age of 4 or 5. |

The applification of fluoride directly on the enamel strengthens its structure against caries. There are several ways of the ingestion. It's possible to bring fluoride directly upon the tooth surface as a gel or painting. With this procedure we can reduce the risk of caries (iontophoresis treatment biannually).
If the fissures of the occlusal surfaces of molars and premolars are intact, it's possible to cover them with a special fluoride-based material. This material seals the fissures, so it inhibits the deposition of plaque and the development of caries on these surfaces. Fissure sealing is especially recommended in the childhood after the eruption of permanent teeth. The treatment is painless, no cavity preparation is needed!
For the teeth of children we use fluoride consisting material. By means of that we can reduce the risk of secondary caries developing next to the filling. This way we can avoid the occasionally exchange of fillings, the repeated cavity preparation.
